The 72nd «Trento Bondone» is getting closer and closer

With the «Trofeo Vallecamonica», scheduled for this weekend, the fourth stage of the 2023 calendar, the CIVM takes another step forward, the penultimate, towards the appointment with the «Trento Bondone», which for the first time in the last 35 years has abandoned the traditional date in early July. The new date, Sunday 11 June, was chosen in agreement with the municipal and provincial administrations, because it allows us to resolve some problems that had been on the table for some time. Fans will therefore do well to write it down in their diaries, given that it undermines a tradition that was consolidated and that some now took for granted.

For a month now, the registrations of the drivers have also begun to reach the Scuderia Trentina secretariat, the flow of which will accelerate, as usual, once the CIVM race which precedes the «Trento Bondone» in the CIVM calendar has been archived, the circuit of which it leaves every year, unlike the most important European validity (EHC), which is awarded every two years. This time it will also award points for the TIVM in the central-northern area, which also included the «Levico Vetriolo Panarotta», for the IHC (the European cup which also includes a Polish, a Slovakian and a German race) and for the Historic Hill Climb Cup Championship, as far as historic cars are concerned.
As usual, the Civm classification sees Simone Faggioli firmly in the lead, who up to now has won five races out of six, namely the two in Alghero, the two in Sarnano and the first in Fasano, while the second was won by Achille Lombardi. In the general classification, the Florentine champion, driving the Norma M20 FC, precedes Luigi Fazzino on Osella PA 2000 Turbo, Lombardi himself on Osella PA21 4c Turbo and Diego Degasperi on Osella Pa30. Christian Merli again this year concentrates his energies on the European Championship and makes some occasional appearances in the CIVM races, but he will be there in any case at the «Trento Bondone». Who knows, maybe his car won't be able to benefit from the lower temperatures guaranteed by the month of June to limit the structural gap that Simone Faggioli will have to pay for on this route.

In addition to the date, the locations of some preliminary activities have also changed, given that this time the technical checks will take place in Piazzale ex Zuffo, or in the paddocks, while the secretariat, the race direction and the press office on Friday and Saturday will be located at the Everest Hotel. The briefing with the competitors scheduled for Friday at 18.30 will also be held at the sports center of Piedicastello, next to the paddocks. As for the two giant screens, one will be set up here and the second in parc fermé, like last year.
The 72nd «Trento Bondone» will also host the activities organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Porsche brand, an anniversary that the German company in Trento celebrates with an exhibition at the Piedicastello galleries, easily reachable on foot from the former Zuffo area.
